Women's Basketball Hosts Loyola in Non-conference Tilt
Lady Eagles look to snap a two-game skid.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's basketball will host Loyola in a non-conference tilt on Saturday as part of a double-header with a 4:30 p.m. tip.

Southern Miss Preview
Southern Miss is coming off a 73-55 road loss to ULM. Tanecka Carey scored a team-high 22 points while Jamierra Faulkner had 15 points and Jerontay Clemons chipped in 11. Carey and Clemons grabbed a team-best seven rebounds.
A trio of Lady Eagles continues to average in double figures. Carey is tops at 15.6 points per game followed by Faulkner at 14.9 and Clemons at 12.9 points. Clemons also paces the team in rebounds, averaging 7.8 per game.
Through eight games, Southern Miss is averaging 59.5 points and 41.4 rebounds while shooting 37.2 percent from the field and 60.9 percent from the line.
Loyola is 3-7 on the season following a 62-47 loss to Dillard on Dec. 8. Shayne Charles led the team with 16 points while Jasmine Brewer pulled down a team-high 10 rebounds. Brewer leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 16.9 points and 9.3 rebounds per game while Megen Berner is next at 12.1 points and Janeicia Neely chips in 10.6 points per game. The Wolfpack is averaging 64.5 points and 38.7 rebounds per game while shooting 38.5 percent from the field and 69.3 percent from the line.
Following the Loyola game, Southern Miss takes to the road for a game at UT-Martin in a 7 p.m. tip.
