Lady Eagles look to get back on winning track

HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss women's basketball team concludes its two-game road swing, traveling to Monroe, La., to face ULM in a 2 p.m. tip on Sunday.

Southern Miss Preview
Southern Miss is coming off a 64-45 loss at UALR on Tuesday night. Jamierra Faulkner netted a game-high 25 points in a losing effort while Jerontay Clemons grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds.
A trio of Lady Eagles continues to average in double figures with Faulkner as the leading scorer this week at 14.9 points while Carey is next at 14.7 points per game and Clemons with 13.1 points. Clemons also paces the team in rebounds, averaging 7.9 per game.
Through seven games, Southern Miss is averaging 60.1 points and 42.0 rebounds while shooting 38.0 percent from the field and 60.3 percent from the line.
ULM owns a 1-6 record after 71-54 loss to UALR on Dec. 1. Alexar Tugler led ULM with 12 points while Alayshia Hunter had 10. Ashleigh Simmons grabbed a team-best 11 rebounds. Tugler and Simmons lead the team in scoring with a 9.7 and 9.4 per game average, respectively. Simmons is also the team leader in rebounds at 7.9 per game. The Warhawks are averaging 56.4 points and 38.9 rebounds per game while shooting 37.9 percent from the field and 64.4 percent from the line.
Southern Miss vs. ULM Series
This is the 22nd meeting between the two teams in a series that began during the 1978-79 season. Southern Miss leads the overall series 14-7.
Following the ULM game, Southern Miss returns home to host Loyola (La.) College on Dec. 15 at 4:30 p.m.
