Women’s Basketball Tangles with Mississippi Valley State Next
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – Southern Miss women’s basketball, on the heels of a comeback win against the Tulane Green Wave in the Battle for I-59, faces Mississippi Valley State tomorrow evening at 6:00 p.m.
This will be the 19 meeting of the Devilettes and Lady Eagles and the fifth straight year the teams have faced each other.
Like Southern Miss, Mississippi Valley State is a team that can force plenty of turnovers. In its only game of the season so far, the Devilettes forced UAB to commit 22 turnovers.
Last year’s contest, an 83-55 affair that went the way of the Lady Eagles, was the team’s fourth highest scoring output of the season. The Black and Gold sank a season-high 22 free throws and Brittanny Dinkins notched her first career double-double.
Southern Miss will also be accepting canned and non-perishable food donations for the Eagles Nest. Fans who donate will be entered into a drawing to win two tickets for the Nov. 18 football game against Charlotte. The Lady Eagles will also be available post game to sign posters.
Tickets can be purchased online at SouthernMissTickets.com, or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-800-844-TICK (8425) as well as visiting the Pat Ferlise Ticket Center. With the pregame show starting 30 minutes prior tip, the game can be heard on WFOR 1400 AM The Score.
