HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Registration continues for the Southern Miss Lady Eagle summer basketball camps. The camps slated to begin June 7-8 with the individual camp according to head coach Joye Lee-McNelis.
The schedule opens with the June 7-9 individual camp. The Lady Eagles host a team building camp (June 10), a team shootout will be conducted June 11 followed by the elite camp June 12-13. The summer camps conclude with a position camp June 15.
The individual camp is open to students seven years of age to 12th grade and will received instruction from McNelis, assistant coaches Jordan Dupuy, Cara Hyatt, Tomekia Reed and director of operations Melinda Clayton. The Lady Eagle Coaching Staff and Players will help you become "your Best".
"We are hosting several camps that will reach several different age groups and skill levels," said McNelis. "Our individual camp is June 7 and 8 with emphasis placed on the ultimate basketball experience. There will be station work that will place emphasis on the fundamentals of the game, as well as individual and game competition."
The position camp is open to players ages 13 to 12th grade. Position camp is designed to work specifically on position lay, as well as teaching the game of basketball through station work, position work and competition.
"Our position camp is the most intense camp we host," said McNelis. "We pride ourselves in making a difference in the serious players who truly wants to impact their game. Each player will work intensely on their position and will be held to a high standard of `all-out effort'."
The Lady Eagles will also host a team shootout camp for junior varsity, varsity and AAU.
"Our team shoot out will be June 11 for high school and junior varsity teams," McNelis said. "Each team in guaranteed three games with certified officials."
