HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's basketball wraps up the regular season at North Texas on Mar. 5 in a 7 p.m. tip.

Southern Miss Preview
The Lady Eagles (23-5, 12-3) are coming off a 79-67 victory over Tulane last Saturday in wrapping up the home portion of its schedule. Senior Jamierra Faulkner recorded her ninth double-double of the season with 22 points and 11 assists while four other Lady Eagles scored in double fugues as Kierra Jordan, Tamara Jones, Jerontay Clemons and Voche' Martin all scored 10 points each. Martin also pulled down a team-high eight rebounds.
Faulkner continues to lead the team in scoring and assists, averaging 17.3 points and 8.5 assists per game. Jones is next at 14.0 points and a team-best 6.0 rebounds per game while Clemons is averaging 11.4 points.
The Lady Eagles are averaging 79.1 points and 39.6 rebounds per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 68.0 percent from the line.
Scouting North Texas
North Texas (12-16, 6-9) is coming off 67-54 loss against Louisiana Tech last Saturday. Janis Peterson led the Mean Green with 16 points while Alexis Hyder added 13 points. Laura McCoy chipped in 11 points. Briesha Wynn pulled down a team-best nine rebounds.
North Texas returns seven letterwinners including three starters from last season's team that finished 11-19.
Wynn leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 11.1 points and 6.8 rebounds per game while Hyder is next with 11.0 points. North Texas is averaging 64.1 points and 40.7 rebounds per game while shooting 38.7 percent from the field and 64.4 percent from the line.
Coach Mike Petersen is in his second season at North Texas as head coach.
