Women's Basketball Hosts UCF in Annual Pink Game

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's basketball team will host UCF in the annul Pink Game on Thursday, Feb. 14 at 7 p.m.
Fans can purchase two tickets for the price of one. First 250 fans will receive a pink t-shirt. Breast Cancer Survivors will be honored at the game. Women's Basketball Downs UCF 62-57
The Southern Miss women's basketball team snapped a two-game losing streak with a 62-57 win over UCF on Sunday in Conference USA action.

Southern Miss is coming off a heart-breaking 60-55 loss at UTEP and looks to snap a two-game losing streak. Tanecka Carey and Jamierra Faulkner led the way with 19 and 17 points, respectively. The Lady Eagles finished the game shooting 50 percent from behind the arc as Carey connected on 5-of-8.
Faulkner continues to lead the team in scoring with a 17.9 per game average while Carey is next at 14.9. Jerontay Clemons leads the team in rebounding with 6.5 rebounds per game while contributing 9.9 points.
As a team, the Lady Eagles are averaging 62.7 points on 39.5 percent shooting from the field. The Black and Gold is averaging 39.4 rebounds and shooting 63.2 percent from the charity stripe.
UCF brings a two-game winning streak into the game with a 9-14 record overall and 3-6 in league play after an 83-62 win over Memphis Sunday. Briahanna Jackson scored a game-high 29 points to go with 11 rebounds while Gevenia Carter had 23 points. Erika Jones had 10 rebounds.
Jackson and Carter paces the Knights with 15.3 and 13.5 per game averages, respectively. Jones leads the team in rebounding at 8.0 rebounds per game.
The Knights are averaging 58.7 points and 37.7 rebounds per game. UCF is shooting 35.1 from the field and 67.5 percent from the line.
Southern Miss vs. UCF Series:
This will be the 24th meeting between the two teams dating back to 1980. Southern Miss leads the overall series 15-8 against UCF. The Lady Eagles won the first 12 meetings between the two teams. UCF has won seven of the last nine meetings as Southern Miss snapped a seven-game losing streak with a win in the Conference USA Tournament last season. The Lady Eagles also snapped a four-game losing streak, winning in Orlando for the first time since 2008.
Following the UCF game, the Lady Eagles will travel to Greenville, N.C., for a matchup against East Carolina on Sunday. Tipoff is set for 12 p.m. (CT)
