Southern Miss Battles Old Dominion in First Half of Saturday Doubleheader
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss women’s basketball team welcomes Old Dominion to Reed Green Coliseum Feb. 10 for the team’s only regular season showdown with the Monarchs. It is the first contest of a Saturday Southern Miss double feature with the Lady Eagles tipping at 2 p.m. and the men’s team following at 4:30 against Charlotte.
Old Dominion comes into the contest with a 5-19 record overall and a 3-7 record in Conference USA play. Monarch guard Victoria Morris currently ranks ninth nationally for three-point field goals attempted (215) and 27 in the country for three-pointers made (70).
Southern Miss holds a 4-2 all-time record against Old Dominion and earned two wins over the Monarchs last year, one at home and the other in the second round of the C-USA Tournament.
The games will be free to all those battling breast cancer and all breast cancer survivors. In conjunction with the Play4Kay Free Throw Challenge during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis will dye her hair pink if there are 2,500 fans in attendance for the contest.
