The Lady Eagles (14-5, 3-3) are coming off an overtime thriller against East Carolina. It marked the third time in as many games that the Lady Eagles have played an overtime game. Jamierra Faulkner netted a career-high 39 points including 34 in the second half and overtime. Brittanny Dinkins chipped in 13 points. Dinkins, Lashyra Cotton and Tamara Jones pulled down five rebounds each. After shooting a dismal 21.4 percent the first half, the Lady Eagles bounced back to connect on 53.6 percent in the second half and 75.0 percent in overall.
Faulkner currently leads the team in scoring and assists, averaging 16.6 points and 8.5 assists per game. Tamara Jones is next at 14.3 points and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game while Jerontay Clemons is averaging 11.1 points.
The Lady Eagles are averaging 78.6 points and 39.9 rebounds per game while shooting 46.5 percent from the field and 65.2 percent from the line.
Rice (10-10, 3-4) comes into the game following a 62-55 loss to Tulane. Jessica Kuster led the Owls with 14 points and 14 rebounds while Maya Hawkins added 10 points.
Rice returns 10 letterwinners including four starters from last season's team that finished 14-16.
Kuster leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 20.0 points and 13.9 rebounds per game. Kuster also leads the league in rebounding while ranking in the top five in the nation. As a team, Rice is averaging 63.9 points and 42.1 rebounds per game while shooting 39.5 percent from the field and 67.3 percent from the line.
Coach Greg Williams is in his ninth season at Rice as head coach.

Following the Rice game, Southern Miss returns home to host the league-leader and nationally ranked Middle Tennessee in a rescheduled game on Feb. 5 that was originally set for Jan. 29.
