Jamierra Faulkner earned Player of the Week honors after averaging a double-double for the week

IRVING, Texas - After distributing 16 assists to set a Conference USA league record, junior guard Jamierra Faulkner of Southern Miss has been named C-USA Women's Basketball Player of the Week. Faulkner was one of four players to average a double-double with 21.0 points and 11.0 assists per game against Houston and Rice last week.
Faulkner finished the week averaging a double-double with 21.0 points and 11.0 assists per game. She also added 3.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals per outing while connecting on 54.5 percent of her shots (18-33-35) from the field. The junior hit 5-of-7 free throws for a 71.4 accuracy. Faulkner scored 16 points against Houston Thursday, then scored a game-high 26 points and recorded a career-high and school-record-tying 16 assists against Rice Sunday. That performance was her fourth double-double of the season and the 14th of her career. Three steals and four rebounds were also credited to Faulkner. The 16 assists is also a C-USA record for a league game and second-most in overall games. This is her second Player of the Week honor for the season and third for her career.
This is Faulkner's third career Player of the Week honor.
