HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's basketball team looks to snap a three-game losing streak when the Lady Eagles return home to host East Carolina in the annual Military Appreciation Game on Saturday at 4 p.m.
East Carolina Sails Into Semis With 89-60 Win Over Southern Miss In C-USA Women's Basketball Championship
East Carolina used a balanced scoring attack as second-seeded Pirates defeated Southern Miss, 89-60, in the C-USA Women's Basketball Championship quarterfinals on Thursday evening in the Tulsa Convention Center.

Southern Miss Preview
The Lady Eagles (13-5, 2-3) are coming off a disappointing overtime loss to UTEP, 86-85. Four players scored in double figures as sophomore Jerontay Clemons led the team with 21 points. Jamierra Faulkner and Kierra Jordan added 15 points each while Brittanny Dinkins chipped in 11 points. Jordan also pulled down a team-best seven rebounds.
Faulkner currently leads the team in scoring and assists, averaging 15.4 points and 8.7 assists per game. Tamara Jones is next at 14.7 points and a team-best 6.3 rebounds per game while Clemons is averaging 11.3 points.
The Lady Eagles are averaging 78.4 points and 40.1 rebounds per game while shooting 46.7 percent from the field and 65.0 percent from the line.
Scouting East Carolina
East Carolina (16-2, 4-1) comes into the game following a 53-47 win over Rice. Jada Payne led the team with 17 points and 10 rebounds while two other players grabbed double figure rebounds with Ondrea Shaw and Abria Trice grabbing 11 and 10 boards, respectively.
East Carolina returns seven letterwinners including two starters from last season's team that finished 22-10.
Payne leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 20.3 points and 7.6 rebounds per game. Trice is averaging 16.6 points. As a team, East Carolina is averaging 74.3 points and 43.6 rebounds per game while shooting 41.8 percent from the field and 74.1 percent from the line.
Coach Heather Macy is in her fourth season at East Carolina as head coach.
Series Record: Southern Miss vs. East Carolina This is the 23rd meeting overall between the two schools dating back to the 2000-01 season. East Carolina leads the overall series 13-9.
Following the East Carolina game, Southern Miss remains at home to host the league leader Middle Tennessee on Jan. 29 in a 7 p.m. tip.
