Women's Basketball Tumbles at UTEP 60-55
The UTEP Miners finished the game using 12-0 run in stealing a 60-55 win over Southern Miss Sunday afternoon in the Don Haskins Center.

Southern Miss Preview
The Lady Eagles (13-4, 2-2) are coming off a 73-71 overtime loss at Tulane. Jerontay Clemons tallied a team-high 18 points while Jamierra Faulkner added 10 points and 13 assists and six steals. Clemons and Kierra Jordan led the team with eight rebounds each.
Faulkner leads the team in scoring with 15.4 points with Tamara Jones right behind at 15.1. Clemons is next with 10.6 points per outing. Jones continues to lead the team in rebounding at 6.5 rebounds per game. Faulkner is dishing out 9.0 assists per game to go with 3.1 steals.
The Lady Eagles are averaging 78.1 points and 39.8 rebounds per game while shooting 46.6 percent from the field and 64.7 percent from the line.
UTEP (13-4, 2-2) comes into the game following a 92-86 loss to Charlotte on Jan. 18. Five Miners scored in double figures led by Kayla Thornton with 18 points followed by Jezel Nash with 17, Kristine Vitola had 16 while Kelli Willingham and Chrishauna Parker added 10 points each. Parker also had a team-best 13 rebounds.
UTEP returns seven letterwinners including four starters from last season's team that finished 22-10. Thornton leads the team in scoring and rebounding with 18.9 points and 9.8 rebounds per game while Nash adds 12.6 points per game. As a team, UTEP is averaging 80.0 points and 43.4 rebounds per game while shooting 42.4 percent from the field and 69.1 percent from the line.
Coach Keitha Adams is in her 10th season at UTEP as head coach.
Series Record: Southern Miss vs. UTEP
This is the 12th meeting between the two teams. UTEP leads the overall series 8-3 that began in 1993. Southern Miss won the first two meetings between the teams. UTEP has won eight of the last nine meetings including the last four.
Following the UTEP game, Southern Miss returns home to host East Carolina on Jan. 25 with a 4 p.m. tip time.
