HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss women's basketball team gets ready for a nationally televised game against UTSA on Fox Sports Network Saturday at 3 p.m.

Southern Miss Preview
The Lady Eagles (12-2, 1-0) are coming off a 67-56 win at Louisiana Tech in their conference opener on Jan. 8. Senior Jamierra Faulkner led all scorers with a game-high 21 points while freshman Brittanny Dinkins poured in 19 points and grabbed a team-best nine rebounds off the bench. Faulkner had a team-best five steals. After shooting 31 percent in the first half, Southern Miss shot 57.7 percent in the second to finish the game shooting 43.6 percent from the field.

Tamara Jones currently leads the team in scoring and rebounding, averaging 16.6 points and 7.0 rebounds per game. Faulkner is next at 14.1 points and Dinkins averages 10.1. Faulkner is dishing out 8.8 assists per game to go with 2.8 steals.

The Lady Eagles are averaging 78.9 points and 40.4 rebounds per game while shooting 47.5 percent from the field and 65.3 percent from the line.

Scouting UTSA
UTSA (9-5, 0-1) comes into the game following a 73-62 loss to Tulsa in the conference opener on Jan. 8. Kamra King led the Roadrunners with a team-best 15 points while Mannasha Bell had 11 points. Niaga Mitchell-Cole grabbed 10 rebounds for UTSA.

UTSA returns seven letterwinners including two starters from last season's team that finished 16-14. King leads the team in scoring with 15.7 points per game while Mannasha Bell tops the team with 5.4 rebounds per game. As a team, UTSA is averaging 63.9 points and 38.6 rebounds per game while shooting 37.1 percent from the field and 64.0 percent from the line.

Coach Lubomyr Lichonzak is in his first season at UTSA as head coach.
