Head Coach Joye Lee-McNelis
"Well, we got round one. I will tell you it wasn't the prettiest game you could ask for. There were a lot of things we didn't do and but the things we did do was put the score on the scoreboard. That was most important. We were able to score against their pressure defense. It heated it up and created opportunities for us. There were segments of the game where we looked very good and segments where we lost focus and didn't finish the task. But when you look at the big picture, we got the victory."
"I don't know if this will be Jamierra Faulkner's last game in Reed Green, but I'm very proud of her and what she has accomplished. She had a double-double tonight and that's definitely a tribute to how good she is. In Brittanny Dinkins, you see a future star. She stepped up today and shot the ball very well and boarded the ball for us."
On coming off a bad loss in the conference championship...
"We were embarrassed by our last game. It was a game we felt like we were prepared. I think going into that game, we may have been a little star-struck. We didn't handle that pressure situation very well. We did not play very well and it was the worst game that we played all year. We are very fortunate and very blessed to get a second-chance opportunity. That's what we've talked about. In life you don't get many second chances. We got a second chance and we were ready to play."
Coming off a bad loss and on the team's play...
"We were really upset at that loss because that wasn't the team that we played like today. It was something that we had to come out and show our home fans again who we really are."
On Lamar getting back into the game late...
"They shot the ball very well. We didn't guard the three-ball well and they were hitting it. It was the same thing when you go back to Old Dominion game, we didn't guard the three-ball and they were knocking them down."
Head Coach Robin Harmony
"We started by missing three point-blank layups. We knew this was a great team that we were going to play. They have the guards, the post players and they have depth. They sub and they don't miss a beat. The push the ball down the floor like a men's team. We knew we gave up 30 points in the paint in the first half. They were going to push transition points on us. If we could have stopped them from running and played a little quarter court, we would have had a better chance."
