Head Coach Joye Lee-McNeils
Opening Statement...
"First off, I would like to say, what a basketball game. I really felt like both teams played with tremendous heart and soul. I truly believe that this time of year it boils down to the little things that make a big difference. We have preached it all year of boxing out, conditioning, and making sure that you are there and touching the line. The little things like boxing them out and rebounding, keeping them off the offensive glass, making the easy play, and diving on the floor for the loose ball. I thought that both teams played with so much intensity, that we saw a great display of Conference USA Basketball. The Lady Eagles were able to pull off a victory, largely because of the young lady sitting to my left, Jamierra (Faulkner), that had a double-double tonight. She was absolutely amazing in orchestrating and running the show. For 38 minutes, I thought we played with a lot of poise and it was due a lot to Jamierra (Faulkner). This group of young players has lived in the gym since we played our last game."

Coach, what do you tell the ladies in a re-match with UTEP?...
"We have talked a lot about playing with a chip on our shoulder and we have talked a lot about revenge. We have talked a lot about how good they really are, because they came and kicked our butt. It wasn't a close game, they really dominated the game and we have talked a lot about us being better than that. Today, we talked about how much better of a team we are since we last played Old Dominion. We've talked about ball screens and the way we guard them since the first time we played them. One our teams goal was to go undefeated at home, so they are looking for a little revenge."

On defense during 12-game winning streak...
"Defensively, we talked about three things coming into this tournament and we've talked about all year. Number one is communication, number two is defending the ball, and number three was to keep people off the offensive glass -and those three things are very critical to us. We have a little cheer going on, but I can't tell you what the cheer is, because it's about guarding ball screens. And we chanted it today. We truly believe in our defensive scheme is why we've won 12 in a row."

Jamierra Faulkner
Where is your head now after winning 12 in a row and advancing to the semi-finals?...
"I'm focused on UTEP (next opponent) right now. We got the win, but once we leave out of here, we have to focus on our next opponent that we play in 14 hours. So we're going to celebrate this one and get focused in the morning."

On defense in second half...
"That's one thing we've been working on the whole season. Ever since we've changed the way we run our defense, we've been winning a lot more games."

Head Coach Karen Barefoot
Opening Statement...
"We played hard, but things just didn't go our way. Give Southern Miss a lot of credit; they're playing at a high level. They have a lot of players stepping up, making big plays - they play with a ton of passion and energy, and at times it seemed like we couldn't even match that. But we finished strong this year and I couldn't be more proud of our seniors. It's an emotional time because it's their last game in Conference USA Tournament. I hope we have some post-season play ahead of us, but we'll have to wait and see."

On Southern Miss defense giving problems...
"They are an incredible defensive team. You have to work at everything you do, even bringing the ball up (the court)."We weren't in attack mode and we battled some injuries from the point guard position. We had to rotate some guards in and out, and they we're playing out of position because we were banged up. They were pressuring us on one side of the floor to the other and making hard for us to get some looks - very physical."
