  • East Carolina attempted 44 field goals vs. Tulsa, which is one shy of the tournament low (43, Southern Miss vs. UCF, 3/3/05 & Louisville vs. Houston, 3/5/05)
  • For the sixth time in tournament history, a game was decided by one point. The last occasion was in 2010, when it happened twice (Tulane 63, UCF 62, 3/9/10; UTEP 62, Rice 61, 3/8/10)
  • SMU & Marshall combined for 105 points, the fewest by two teams in Elma Roane Fieldhouse history. The prior standard was 106 (Memphis 55, Ole Miss 51, 2/14/90)
  • UCF had 24 offensive rebounds vs. Southern Miss, which ties as the seventh most in tournament history
  • UCF is the third defending tournament champion to lose a first.round game the ensuing season. It last happened when East Carolina fell to Rice, 69.55, in Orlando, Fla., on March 6, 2008
