Maghan James is in her first season with the Lady Eagle Basketball program, following a standout career at William Carey University, where she was a two-year starter for the Crusader softball team.

While at Carey, James batted .305 with 32 hits, including five doubles and a team-leading six home runs with 21 runs batted in during her senior campaign. She was a two-time all-conference selection and she earned academic All-American honors for two years. She was named to the NFCA second team all-region team in 2007.

James also was a two-year letterwinner and starter at Pearl River Community College, where she was a two-time all-state and all-region selection. She batted over .450 with 50 runs batted in during her career with the Lady Wildcats' softball.

James was a standout multi-sport letterwinner at Oak Grove High School, where she earned letters in volleyball, basketball and softball. She received all-district honors in softball and volleyball.

The Hattiesburg, Miss., native received a bachelor's degree in education from Carey in 2007. She is the daughter of Lavon and Tammy James. Her sister, Logan, is a member of the Lady Eagle softball team.
