Prior to coming to Southern Miss, Dupuy spent four years as a teacher and coach at the high school level, including the last two spent at Oak Grove High School. He taught government and economics and was an assistant coach for the boys' and girls' basketball teams and fastpitch softball at Oak Grove. During his tenure, he was instrumental in helping the girls' basketball team record their first 20-win season in several years.

Being no stranger to the Golden Eagle basketball programs, Dupuy worked with the Golden Eagle men's basketball program for six seasons as a manager, graduate assistant and director of basketball operations. As director of operations, his duties included travel, overseeing the managers, monitoring academic progress as well as assisting in film exchange and scouting.

The Baton Rouge, La., native received his bachelor's degree in coaching and sport administration in 2002 and a master's degree in 2003 from Southern Miss.

He is married to the former Elizabeth Goodson and the couple has two children, Alex and Madison.
