Chandra Dorsey is in her second season as an assistant coach with the Lady Eagle basketball program. Her responsibilities include recruiting, assisting in all aspects of the Lady Eagle basketball camps, on-the-court coaching working primarily with the perimeter players, scouting opponents and film breakdown, as well as coordinating all of the Lady Eagle community service events.

Dorsey came to Southern Miss after four seasons at McNeese State, where her duties included recruiting, film exchange, organizing team travel and overseeing the weight training program. During her tenure at McNeese, the team made three consecutive Southland Conference tournament appearances and she helped develop two all-conference players.

The Pine Grove, La., native played her collegiate basketball in the Southeastern Conference at the Univeristy of Mississippi (Ole Miss) where she excelled both athletically and academically.

While at Ole Miss, Dorsey helped the team to two WNIT appearances her sophomore and senior seasons. While playing the point-guard position, she was named the team's most improved player, best defensive player, and was voted the team's captain her senior season. She also was named to the All-SEC Academic Honor Roll and was a member of the UMAA (University of Mississippi Athletic Association) Honor Roll.

Dorsey, a 2001 graduate of Ole Miss, earned her bachelor's degree in political science with a concentration in criminal justice.

Dorsey, a four-year standout for Coach Eddie Anderson at St. Helena Central High (La.) High School, helped lead her team to a 28-5 overall record during the 1996-97 season and helped them advance to the second round of the state playoffs. During her prep career, Dorsey scored over 1,000 points and was twice named her district's most valuable player. She also was a two-time all-metro and all-district selection and was named to the all-state honorable mention team. As a starter, she averaged 22.2 points, 9.7 assists, 4.7 rebounds and 4.3 steals. She also participated in the Louisiana High School All-Star game her senior season.

She is the daughter of Tommy and Viola Dorsey.
