Riley advances to finals of NCAA Championships
EUGENE, Ore. - Southern Miss hurdler Wenston Riley overcame chilly weather conditions to advance to the finals of the Men's 110-meter High Hurdles at the NCAA Track and Field Championships on the campus of The University of Oregon.
Riley, who had a set a school record one day earlier in the quarterfinals, advanced to the final group with a time of 13.81 in the semifinals.
The finals of the event are scheduled for Saturday at 7:20 p.m., CT.
"Wenston is feeling very good right now and is very excited," Southern Miss Track Coach Wayne Williams said. "He ran well in spite of the weather. It was chilly today as opposed to the 90 degree temperature yesterday."
This is Riley's first appearance in the finals in the event at the NCAA championships.
