Golden Eagle Women’s Team Finish Fourth at Alabama Relays; Men’s Place Ninth
Cedric Norman wins high jump competition at Alabama Relays
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Golden Eagle men and women’s track and field teams wrapped competition at the Alabama Relays, finishing fourth and ninth, respectively. Only the relays were scored in the meet.
The Golden Eagle performances were highlighted by senior Cedric Norman’s performance in the high jump, capturing the title with height of 7’3”. He has won both competitions during the outdoor season, including the 7’6” mark to start the season. Jeff Danso finished sixth in the triple jump with a jump of 47’9.25”.
In the relay competition, Southern Miss finished fourth in the 4x110-meter hurdle shuttle relay with a time of 1:04.21.
On the women's side, Southern Miss scored 23 points, finishing fifth in the 4x100-meter shuttle relay with a time of 1:03.92. The Lady Eagles posted an eighth-place finish in the 4x100-meter relay with a time of 47.46; finished sixth in the sprint medley relay with a time of 4:13.13; finished sixth in the 4x1,500-meter relay with a time of 19:57.07; fifth in the 4x200-meter relay with a time of 1:39.12; and sixth in the 4x400-meter with a time of 3:56.31. Dasha Wakefield finished third in the pole vault with a jump of 10’11.75” and Lexi Washington was eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 36’11.75”.
