Golden Eagle Tracksters Put Together Good Day At Alabama Relays
Conrad Chanove threw a school-record 225'10"
Raquel Washington ran a school-record 13.87 in hurdles
TUSCALOOSA, Ala. – The Southern Miss Golden Eagles finished day two at the Alabama Relays, turning in some outstanding performances.
Raquel Washington registered a regional qualifying time in the 100 meter hurdles at 13.87, setting a school record in the process. Conrad Chanove posted a regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a school record throw of 225’10”. The throw also was the second-best mark in Conference USA history.
Tanika Liburd finished eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.10 and followed up with a second-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 19’8.50”. Dijana Kojic continued her outstanding performance in the 800 meters, finishing first with a time of 2:09.97. Keri White finished eighth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:33.33. Becca Rop was seventh in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:42.61. Jocelyn Young was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.83. Naomi Kiprotich finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:38.02. Krista Miller finished third in the high jump with a jump of 5’7” and Kate Juedes finished in a tie for seventh with a jump of 5’3”.
Marvin Lucas posted a jump of 22’11.75” in the long jump for a seventh-place finish. Marvin Pinnock was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.89.
Southern Miss competes in the final day of the Alabama Relays on Sunday.
