Golden Eagle Tracksters Put Together Good Day At Alabama Relays

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. The Southern Miss Golden Eagles finished day two at the Alabama Relays, turning in some outstanding performances.


Raquel Washington registered a regional qualifying time in the 100 meter hurdles at 13.87, setting a school record in the process.  Conrad Chanove posted a regional qualifying mark in the javelin with a school record throw of 22510.  The throw also was the second-best mark in Conference USA history.


Tanika Liburd finished eighth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 12.10 and followed up with a second-place finish in the long jump with a jump of 198.50.  Dijana Kojic continued her outstanding performance in the 800 meters, finishing first with a time of 2:09.97.  Keri White finished eighth in the 5,000 meters with a time of 18:33.33.  Becca Rop was seventh in the 3,000 meter steeplechase with a time of 11:42.61.  Jocelyn Young was fourth in the 400-meter hurdles with a time of 1:03.83.  Naomi Kiprotich finished second in the 1,500 meters with a time of 4:38.02.  Krista Miller finished third in the high jump with a jump of 57 and Kate Juedes finished in a tie for seventh with a jump of 53.


Marvin Lucas posted a jump of 2211.75 in the long jump for a seventh-place finish.  Marvin Pinnock was fifth in the 800 meters with a time of 1:55.89.


Southern Miss competes in the final day of the Alabama Relays on Sunday.
