The Southern Miss produced several record setting performances at the Texas Relays.
The 4x100-meter relay team of Tanika Liburd, Angela Johnson, Erica Alston and Raquel Washington recorded a school-record time of 44.46 in the preliminaries, advancing to the finals of the 4x100-meter relay. The team bested the school mark, posting a time of 44.00 and finishing fourth in the finals. The relay team of Tori Wells, Alston, Johnson and Liburd recorded a school-record time of 1:35.85 in the 4x200-meter relay and finished fifth.
The men's 4x400-meter relay team of Cornelius Duncan, Quincy Parker, Brandon McCray and Marvin Pinnock recorded a school-record time of 3:10.62.
Liburd finished fourth overall in section A long jump with a jump of 20'6.25", posting a regional qualifying mark.
Hana Prudilova was second overall in the section B javelin with a throw of 151'11", recording a regional qualifying mark.
Washington turned the fourth fastest time in the 100-meter hurdles, winning her heat and advancing to the finals with a time of 13.35. She finished fifth in the finals, recording a time of 13.24.
Ashley Reyer made up substantial ground in the final day of heptathlon and moved up five positions, finishing ninth overall with 5,239 points and posting a regional qualifying mark.
Simona Costache recorded a jump of 40'11.75" in the section A triple Jump for a regional qualifying mark.
