BATON ROUGE, La. - Southern Miss Golden Eagles turned in several top performances at the LSU Bayou Bengal on Friday.

Ashley May continues to produce top performances in the long jump, recording a NCAA provisional mark and finishing first with a jump of 6.14m (20'1.75"). She also finished second in the triple jump with a jump of 12.29m (40'4"). Samera Johnson finished 10th in the long jump with a mark of 5.23m (17'4") and Jessica Cheeks was ninth in the triple jump with a jump of 11.21m (36'9.50").

Chastity Riggien recorded a time of 7.67 in the 60 meters, just missing advancing to the finals. Jemarie Alcordo was sixth in the one-mile run with a time of 5:27.33.

Carmen Dennis came in third in the 400 meters, running a time of 57.83, while Tierra Wheeler was 10th with a time of 1:00.44. Cheris Fletcher turned in a time of 2:25.16 in the 800 meters to finish third, Kirsten Richards was eighth with a time of 2:32.75 and LaSheika Dinkins was 10th with a time of 2:35.67.

Suesanna Williams finished second in the shot with a mark of 13.42m (44'0.50") with Rushae Collier finishing 10th with a throw of 10.82m (35'6"). Williams also was eighth in the weight throw with a throw of 15.41m (50'6.75) and Collier finished ninth with a throw of 15.32m (50'3.25").

Tiffany Hubbard finished in a tie for seventh in the high jump with a jump 1.59m (5'2.50"). The 4x400 meter relay ran a time of 4:00.83 to finish fifth.

Cornelius Duncan was third in the 800 meters, posting a time of 1:59.83.

Myreon Sartin finished in a tie for eighth in the high jump, recording a mark of 1.90m (6'2.75), while Rascive Grant was 10 in the long jump with a jump of 7.03m (23'0.75"). Ken Watson took eighth in the triple jump with a jump of 14.27m (46'10").

Richardo Page was fifth in the shot with a throw of 15.96m (52'4.50"), while teammate Aaron Ammons was sixth with a throw of 15.82m (51'11"). Ammons finished ninth in the weight throw with a mark of 14.35m (47'1").

The 4x400 meter relay team ran 3:30.41, finishing ninth.

Both teams return to action when they travel to Houston for the Cougar Invitaitonal, Feb. 9.
