Men's Tennis claims No. 8 spot in final ITA Southern Region rankings
HATTIESBURG, Miss. -- The Southern Miss men's tennis team finished its 19-4 season with a No. 8 ranking in ITA Southern region, while Jorman Reyes and Wen-Po Tseng claimed the No. 15 and 16 spots, respectively, in singles play.
The Golden Eagles, who just completed their fifth season under head coach Zubin Engineer, are now 41-9 over the last two seasons.
Tseng also earned All-Conference USA honors for singles and doubles. In the former, he went 15-0 to give him the longest unbeaten streak in program history, a record not broken in 37 years.
Reyes went 17-3 in singles, with all but one of his decisions coming on the No. 4-6 courts. Tseng, a senior, joins Daniel Merker and Mikhail Esipov as departing Golden Eagles. Freshman Chung Hun Tsai, however, also earned all-conference distinction in doubles alongside Tseng.
Southern Miss also finished No. 9 in 2017 and No. 8 in 2016 in the region.
