HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's tennis will have to wait one extra day to start the 2012 spring season. Due to increment weather expected on Saturday, the match with Alcorn State was moved to Sunday for a 1 p.m. start at the USM Tennis Courts. Admission is free.

Head Coach Ki Kroll begins his second season and returns four letterwinners from last year's team that finished 3-19.

Heading the list of returnees are sophomores Paulo Alvarado, Alex Doleac, Jovan Zeljkovic and Michael Sims. Kroll also welcomes eight newcomers in Iñaki Belloso (San Sebastian, Spain), Andrew Day (Jackson, Miss.), Mike Elortegui (Carmel, Calif.), Matt Frost (Hertford, United Kingdom), Andrew Goodwin (Alpharetta, Ga.) and Max De Juan (Barcelona, Spain). Kroll also added two in January, Juan Escobar (Manta, Ecuador) and Brad Marriott (London, England)

The Golden Eagles turned in a solid fall season, competing in four tournaments and compiling an overall tournament record of 38-31. Elortegui ended the fall with a four-match winning streak while Doleac had a three-match winning streak.

Following the Alcorn State match, the Golden Eagles will travel to Oxford, Miss., to take on the No. 24 ranked Ole Miss Rebels at 1:30 p.m.
