Esipov Wins CCB Collegiate Invitational

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- Senior Mikhail Esipov wins the Houndstooth Singles Draw Championship at the 2017 CCB Collegiate Invitational for the Southern Miss men's tennis team.

Esipov knocked off three seeded opponents on route to his championship win on Sunday morning. Esipov defeated Tatsuki Shimamoto of Miami 6-3, 6-1 to win his first tournament of his senior campaign. Esipov won all of his matches in straight set fashion. Shimamoto was seeded at No. 4 entering the tournament.

Chung Han Tsai ended his tournament play with a 4-6, 6-4, 6-2 win against Mustapha Belcora of Troy on Sunday.

Teeradon Totrakul won his final match after teammate Ronit Bisht couldn't compete due to injury.

The Golden Eagles have recorded a championship win in all three spring tournaments this season. The team won the Southern Miss Invitational and Ronit Bisht won his singles draw at the Battle on the Bayou.

The CCB Collegiate Invitational is the last tournament for the Golden Eagles this fall.
