Men's Tennis Sports Perfect Record in Day One of the Big Easy Tennis Classic

NEW ORLEANS, La. - The Southern Miss men's sports a perfect record in the first day of the Big East Tennis Classic on Friday, recording six wins.

In singles competition, Alex Doleac defeated his opponent Marko Milosavljevic of Jackson State in straight sets, 6-0, 6-0. Vasco Valverde downed Carlos Martinez of Jackson State, 6-3, 7-5. Juan Escobar outlasted Jose Luque of Jackson State, 6-3, 3-6, 10-8. Brad Marriott defeated Camilo Patino of Jackson State in straight sets, 6-2, 6-3.

In doubles, Valverde and Marriott defeated Jose Luque and Ernesto Morales of Jackson State, 8-3 while Paulo Alvarado and Escobar defeated Camilo Patino and Herman Garcia of Jackson State, 8-2.

If the weather permits, action resumes on Saturday.
