Men's Tennis Team Falls 4-0 to Top Seeded Tulsa in Quarterfinals
Golden Eagles finish season at 12-11

TULSA, Okla. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team fell 4-0 to top-seed and host Tulsa in the quarterfinals of the Conference USA Championship at the Michael D. Case Tennis Center.
The Golden Hurricane took the first point with doubles wins on courts one and three. Seniors Paulo Alvarado and Juan Escobar fell 8-3 to No. 27 ranked Clifford Marsland and Dylan McCloskey at the top spot while senior Alex Doleac and freshman Grigory Trotsenko lost an 8-4 decision to Matthew Kirby and Or Ram-Harel at No. 3. Sophomore Vasco Valverde and freshman Chao-Yu Huang was trailing Japie De Klerk and Alejandro Espejo 7-4 when their match was suspended.
In singles action, Tulsa took a 2-0 lead when Daniel Santos defeated Trotsenko 6-2, 6-0 on court six. The Golden Hurricane picked another win at No. 2 where No. 85 ranked Clifford Marsland bested Doleac. No. 81 ranked Japie De Klerk clinched the match using a 6-0, 6-2 win over Alvarado at the top spot.
Valverde, Huang and Escobar matches were suspended.
Southern Miss closed out the season with a 12-11 record overall.
