Men's Tennis Falls to No. 39 Middle Tennessee 4-3
Golden Eagles fall to 15-9 on the season.

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. - The Southern Miss men's tennis team dropped a close match to No. 39 Middle Tennessee 4-3 on Saturday at the Buck Bouldin Tennis Center.
Southern Miss falls to 15-9 while Middle Tennessee improves to 15-6.
The Golden Eagles took the early 1-0 lead after taking two of the three doubles. Vasco Valverde and Benjamin Feldmann posted the first victory with an 8-6 win at No. 2 over Marlon Brand and Yannick Born. Paulo Alvarado and Juan Escobar followed with an 8-7 (1-0) win over David Fox and Christoph Lang at No. 3 doubles to claim the point. Matt Frost and Andrew Goodwin fell to Ben Davis and Victor Cornea 8-7 (1-0) on court 1.
In singles play, Middle Tennessee took four of six singles against the Golden Eagles. The Raiders won at court 6 to even the score at 1-1. MT then claimed a win on court 5 for the 2-1 advantage before taking a 3-1 lead with a win on curt three.
Goodwin earned the Golden Eagles' second point of the match after battling back from a set down for a 3-6, 6-2, 6-4 win over Lang on court 2. Born clinched the match for the Raiders on court 4 with a three-set win over Feldmann.
Frost recorded the final point for Southern Miss on court 1 with a 6-1, 1-6, 6-3 decision over Davis.
Southern Miss returns action on April 13 with a match at Louisiana-Lafayette.
