Men's Tennis Team Claims 6-1 Victory Over Marquette
Southern Miss upped its record to 14-7.

Against Marquette, Southern Miss took the early 1-0 lead after winning two of three doubles. Marquette took the first match in the doubles at No. 1 when Dan Mamalat and Vuksin Teofanovic downed Matt Frost and Andrew Goodwin, 8-2.
Southern Miss battled at No. 2 for an 8-6 win as Benjamin Feldmann and Vasco Valverde upended Cameron Tehrani and Logan Collins. Paulo Alvarado and Juan Escobar clinched the point on court 3 with an 8-5 win over Gleb Sklyr and James Stark.
In singles competition, Frost continued to roll as he made quick work of Mamalat on court 1 with a 6-1, 6-3 win. Alvarado gave the Golden Eagles a 3-0 lead, defeating Sklyr in straight sets, 6-0, 6-2. Goodwin the clinched the match with a 7-6, 2-6, 6-2 win over Teofanovic.
Valverde recorded the team's fifth point after coming back from a set down for the 1-6, 7-6, 6-2 win over Tehrani on court 4. Marquette got its first point when Collins topped Feldmann on court 3 by a score of 6-4, 2-6, 6-4.
Escobar concluded the Southern Miss scoring with a 6-2, 6-7, 7-5 win over David Packowitz on court 6. Southern Miss wraps up play in the tournament with a match against Utah.
