Men's Tennis Stay Perfect At Home After Win Against Troy
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's tennis remain perfect at home after Tuesday's 6-1 win against Troy.
The Golden Eagles swept doubles play to take a 1-0 lead into singles action. Tom Cecchetto and Mieszko Kwasniewski improve to 4-1 in doubles on court 3. The freshman pair have the most doubles wins of any pairing for Southern Miss.
Wen-Po Tseng and Mikhail Esipov both improve to 3-0 in singles play after Tuesday's match. Tseng battled back after dropping the second set on court 4 but prevailed for his third straight singles win. Tseng defeated Pelayo Antuna 6-2, 2-6, 6-2. Esipov won his third match on court 6 after dropping the first set 6-4. Esipov won the last two sets 6-2, 6-3.
Ronit Bisht won his second match of the season on court 1 despite the second set going to tie-breaker. Bisht defeated Lau 6-3, 7-5.
Teeradon Tortrakul and Jorman Reyes made easy work of each opponent. Tortrakul earned win No. 2 on court 2 6-2, 6-1. Reyes competed on court 5 for the first time this season and won 6-2, 6-3. This is the third different court Reyes has played on this season.
The Trojans earned its only point on court 3 against Daniel Merker.
The Golden Eagles travel to Mobile, Ala., to play South Alabama on Saturday, Feb. 17 at 1 p.m.
