Men's Tennis Win Second Straight At Home
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's tennis never trailed in Friday's 5-2 win against Youngstown State.
Chung Han Tsai and Wen-Po Tseng are now 2-0 in doubles play after a 6-4 win on court 2 clinched the doubles point. Jorman Reyes and Daniel Merker won the first doubles match on court 1 to help secure the third straight doubles point for the Golden Eagles.
Reyes won his second straight singles match on court 4 6-3, 6-3. Reyes' early success continues after he finished his match first for the second straight match for Southern Miss. Tseng was close behind after Reyes also won in a 6-3, 6-3 win. Friday's match was the first time Tseng competed on court 2 this season.
Mikhail Esipov competed in his first singles match since the opening match against Ole Miss and won in easy fashion with a 6-0, 6-2 win.
The Golden Eagles held a 4-0 lead going into Teeradon Tortrakul's 6-2, 6-2 win. Merker and Tom Cecchetto dropped their matches on court 3 and 5 but Southern Miss held on for a 5-2 win.
The Golden Eagles host Alabama State tomorrow morning at 10 a.m.
