HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team closes the 2013 fall season when it travels to Jacksonville, Fla., for the Eagle/Osprey Intercollegiate. The tournament, which will be Nov. 4-5, is co-hosted by North Florida and Georgia Southern and will be played at the par-72, 7,223-yard Deerword Country Club.
Participating in the tournament along with Southern Miss are hosts North Florida and Georgia Southern, Florida Gulf Coast, Francis Marion, Furman, GRU Augusta, Jacksonville, Lipscomb, Loyola (Md.), Mercer, Southeastern Louisiana, Troy, Tulsa and Vanderbilt.
Teeing off in the No. 1 position is senior Zach Estep. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native has a stroke average of 72.78. He had a season-best fourth-place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate
Senior Kevin Brady is teeing off in the No. 2 position. The Brandon, Miss., native has a stroke average of 73.78.
Teeing off in the No. 3 position is sophomore Kevin Jorden. The Juno Beach, Fla., native leads the team with a stroke average of 71.33. He is coming off a career-best eighth-place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
Junior Casey Fernandez will tee off in the No. 4 position. The McAlester, Okla., native is currently averaging 72.33 strokes per round while leading the team with four rounds of par or better.
Junior Drew Kirby will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Baton Rouge, La., native is averaging 73.50 strokes and had his first career top 20 finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate.
The teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
