Men's Golf Heads to Jim Rivers Intercollegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team continues the fall season when it travels to Choudrant, La. to participate in the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate. The tournament, which will be Oct. 21-22, is hosted by Louisiana Tech and will be played at the Squire Creek Country Club.
Participating in the tournament along with Southern Miss are host Louisiana Tech, Arkansas-Little Rock, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, McNeese State, Missouri State, New Orleans, North Texas, Nicholls State, Southeastern Louisiana and Stephen F. Austin.
Teeing off in the No. 1 position is junior Casey Fernandez. The McAlester, Okla., native has a stroke average of 70.83. He has a team-high four rounds of par-or better and is coming off his first career top-10 finish at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic.
Senior Zach Estep will tee off in the No. 2 position. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native has a stroke average of 73.67. He tied for 36th-place at the Fighting Irish Gridiron Classic.
Teeing off in the No. 3 position is sophomore Kevin Jorden. The Juno Beach, Fla., native is playing in his second tournament of the season and has a stroke average of 70.67.
Senior Kevin Brady will tee off in the No. 4 position. The Brandon, Miss., native is currently averaging 73.33 strokes per round
Junior Drew Kirby will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Baton Rouge, La., native is averaging 73.67 strokes per round and will be competing in his second tournament of the season.
Sophomore Michael Perez will be competing as an individual. He is currently averaging 74.33 strokes per round.
