Men's Golf Closes Fall Season at Lone Star Invitational

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss closes out its fall season when it travels to San Antonio, Texas for the Lone Star Invitational, Sunday-Tuesday at the par-72, 6,931-yard Hill Country Resort Golf Club.
Of the 15 teams in the tournament, six are ranked in Golfweek.com's current top 100, including No. 100 Southern Miss. Joining the Golden Eagles in the top 100 are No. 34 Houston, No. 35 North Texas, No. 66 Arizona, No. 72 Central Arkansas and No. 83 Denver.
Also participating in the tournament are Houston Baptist, Illinois State, New Mexico State, Rice, Sacramento State, Stephen F. Austin, Texas State, Utah Valley and host UT-San Antonio.
Southern Miss is coming off a second-place finish at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate. Junior Kevin Brady leads the Golden Eagles with a stroke average of 72.22. Sophomore Casey Fernandez is averaging 73.33 and junior Zach Estep is posting 73.56 strokes.
The tournament begins Sunday at 8:30 a.m. with teams going off holes No. 1 and 10. The teams will play 18 holes on Sunday, Monday and Tuesday.
