Men's Golf Heads to Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic
The teams tee off at 8 a.m. Monday.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team continues the fall season when it travels to South Bend, Ind. to participate in the Fighting Irish Gridiron Golf Classic. The tournament, which will be Sept. 23-24, is hosted by Notre Dame and will be played at the par-71, 7,023-yard Warren Golf Course.
Participating in the tournament along with Southern Miss are College of Charleston, Davidson, Eastern Michigan, Georgetown, Georgia Southern, Houston, Michigan State, Notre Dame, UT-Arlington, West Florida, Xavier and Yale.
Teeing off in the No. 1 position is sophomore Tyler Peggs. The Germantown, Tenn., native leads the Golden Eagles with a stroke average of 70.33. He tied for 19th-place at the season-opening Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
Junior Casey Fernandez will tee off in the No. 2 position. The McAlester, Okla., native has a stroke average of 70.67. He tied for 21st-place at the Sam Hall Intercollegiate.
Teeing off in the No. 3 position is senior Kevin Brady. The Brandon, Miss., native has a stroke average of 71.00 after tying for 21st-place.
Senior Zach Estep will tee off in the No. 4 position. The Lawrenceville, Ga., native is currently averaging 73.00 strokes per round after tying for 47th-place.
Senior Jared Smith will tee off in the No. 5 position. The Saucier, Miss., native is averaging 71.33 strokes per round after tying for 26th-place.
