Southern Miss Men’s Golf Competes in Louisiana
HATTIESBURG, Miss. – The Southern Miss Men’s golf team hits the links Sept. 18-19 at the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate, their second tournament of the season
The squad’s starting five for this tournament, Matt Codd, Walker Kesterson, Matt Lorenz, Derick Kelting and Nathan Corchis, are joined by individual Brian Richards at the Squire Creek Country Club in Choudrant, La.
The 14 team field made up of Abilene Christian, Central Arkansas, Houston Baptist, Incarnate Word, Lamar, Louisiana Tech, Missouri State, Nicholls State, South Florida, Southeastern Louisiana, Stephen F. Austin, New Orleans and UTSA will compete on the Par 72, 7,070 yard course.
The Golden Eagles claimed the Jim Rivers Intercollegiate team title in 2011 after shooting a total of 854 and in 2013 with an 867. Southern Miss’ 2013 second round score of -10 is the fourth lowest round ever by a team at the tournament.
