Ryan Argotsinger and Matt Codd Named Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars
HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Former Southern Miss golfer Ryan Argotsinger (Lee’s Summit, Mo.) and rising senior Matt Codd (Red Deer, Alberta) earned Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholars for the Division I level this week in an announcement by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
A record number of student-athletes earned All-America Scholar status including 260 at the Division I level.
In order to be eligible for Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar status an individual must be a junior or senior academically, compete in at least three full years at the collegiate level, participate in 50-percent of his team’s competitive rounds, have a stroke-average under 76.0 and maintain a minimum cumulative career grade-point average of 3.2. A recipient must also be of high moral character and be in good standing at his college or university.
Argotsinger, a two-time recipient of the award, finished his senior campaign last spring with the lowest average score among the squad with a 73.69 average over 29 rounds, while Codd collected his first accolade by posting a 74.09 over all 32 rounds the squad played in 2016-17.
Codd collected a pair of top five finishes last year, while Argotsinger enjoyed a top 5 and a top 10 showing during his final season with the Golden Eagles.
