Kirby Named Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss men's golf Drew Kirby was named a Cleveland Golf/Srixon All-American Scholar recipient, announced this morning by the Golf Coaches Association of America.
He is the first Southern Miss golfer to earn the honor since Nick Brown in 2010.
The award requires a minimum 3.20 cumulative GPA and the student-athlete must have competed in at least 50% of the team's regularly scheduled competitive rounds. A total of 339 men's collegiate golfers in the three NCAA's divisions and NAIA were awarded the honor.
Kirby, an accounting major from Baton Rouge, La., wrapped up his junior campaign. He was one of three golfers to participate in all 10 events, averaging 74.86 strokes per round. He had two top-20 finishes, with his top finish coming at the Reunion Intercollegiate, where he had a career-best tie for 12th-place.
