Men's Golf Closes Regular Season at Old Waverly Collegiate

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team closes the 2012-13 regular season this week when it participates in the Old Waverly Collegiate, Monday-Tuesday, April 8-9. The tournament will be played at the par 72, 7,088-yard Old Waverly Golf Club in West Point, Miss.

Southern Miss, who is ranked 91st in the latest Top 100, is joined by 12 other teams in the Top 100, including six in the Top 50. No. 32 Mississippi State, No. 57 South Alabama, No. 61 UAB, No. 63 Memphis, No. 66 Ole Miss, No. 85 Georgia State, No. 86 Louisiana Tech and No. 92 Southeastern Louisiana.

Southern Miss is also joined by Arkansas State, Cincinnati, Louisiana-Lafayette, Middle Tennessee State and Rice.

The Golden Eagles are coming off a fifth-place finish at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate.

Junior Zach Estep leads Southern Miss with a 74.22 stroke average. He has earned one top five, three top 10 and four top 20 finishes on the year. Junior Kevin Brady is second on the team with a stroke average of 74.48, while leading the team with two top five finishes.

The tournament begins Monday with teams teeing off at 8:30 a.m. CT.
