HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team heads to Louisiana for the second straight week, when it travels to Choudrant for the Argent Financial Classic, hosted by Louisiana Tech and played at the par-72, 7,105-yard Squire Creek Country Club.
Of the 12 teams in the tournament, five are ranked in Golfweek.com's current top 100, including No. 17 LSU, No. 34 North Texas, No. 85 Louisiana Tech, No. 94 Central Arkansas and No. 95 Jacksonville State.
Joining Southern Miss are Arkansas-Little Rock, Jackson State, UL-Lafayette, McNeese State, Missouri State and Texas State.
This is the third straight year that Southern Miss will participate in the tournament. Last year, the Golden Eagles earned a fifth-place finish.
Golfers will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 and Tuesday. Both days will begin at 8:30 a.m.
Southern Miss is led by junior Kevin Brady with a stroke average of 74.06 in 18 rounds. Junior Zach Estep is averaging 74.28 strokes and sophomore Casey Fernandez is adding 74.56 per round.
