Men's Golf Opens 2012 Spring Season at Mobile Bay Intercollegiate
Tournament consists of 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - Southern Miss opens the 2012 men's golf spring season when it travels to Mobile, Ala., to play in the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, Monday and Tuesday and hosted by South Alabama at the par-72, 7,160-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
Southern Miss will be joined in the tournament by 10 teams who are ranked in Golfweek's Top 100, led by No. 23 Illinois. Also in the Top 100 is No. 42 Vanderbilt, No. 45 Middle Tennessee State, No. 46 Memphis, No. 55 Mississippi State, No. 56 Louisiana-Lafayette, No. 96, Vanderbilt, No. 97 South Alabama, No. 98 Akron and No. 99 Kentucky.
Arkansas State, Illinois State, Mercer and Toledo will also participate.
Derek Plucienski, Casey Fernandez, Kevin Brady, Nick Brown and Zach Estep will participate in the tournament. In addition, Trent Hillis, Drew Kirby and Matt McKagen will participate in the inaugural USA Individual Tournament, a 36-hole tournament on the par-72, 7,051-yard Magnolia Grove Falls Golf Course.
The tournament begins Monday with a shotgun start at 8:30 a.m. The teams will play 36 holes on Monday, followed by the final 18 on Tuesday.
