San Antonio, Texas - The Southern Miss men's golf squad closed its fall schedule with a 13th-place finish at the Lone State Invitational, hosted by UT-San Antonio and played at the par 72, 7,258-yard Briggs Ranch Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles finished 42-over par after shooting a final round 317. Southern Miss finished 11 shots behind 12th-place Stephen F. Austin.
Sophomore Kevin Brady led the Golden Eagles in 37th-place. Brady shot a final round 78 to finish seven-over par. Sophomore Zach Estep and redshirt senior Nick Brown tied for 61st-place at 14-over par. Estep had the Black and Gold's low round of the day with a 77, while Brown shot an 83.
Redshirt senior Derek Plucienski and freshman Casey Fernandez tied at 15-over par in 64th-place after both posted 81's.
New Mexico won the team competition at three-under par, eight shots ahead of second-place Texas A&M and North Texas.
Rice's Jeff Wibawa won the individual competition at seven-under par, one shot ahead of Baylor's Joakim Mikkelsen. John Catlin of New Mexico finished third at four-under.
The men's golf team will now take the rest of the fall off before beginning the spring season in February.
