Men's Golf Ties for Sixth-Place at C-USA Championship

Edmond, Okla. – The Southern Miss men’s golf team tied for sixth-place at the Conference USA Championship. The tournament was played at the par-70, 6,861 Oak Tree Golf Club.

The Golden Eagles shot a 300, finishing 46-over par. They tied with UTEP, 17 shots behind fifth-place Middle Tennessee

Junior Casey Fernandez tied his career-best finish, tying for 10th-place. He shot a 73 to finish seven-over par.

Sophomore Kevin Jorden fired a 72 to tie for 30th-place at 12-over par. The 72 was Jorden’s team-leading seventh round of par or better this year.

Junior Drew Kirby tied for 38th-place at 14-over par after posting a 75. Senior Trent Hillis tied for 52nd-place at 21-over par after carding an 80 and senior Kevin Brady tied for 63rd-place at 26-over par after shooting an 80.

Rice won the tournament title at 21-over par, one shot ahead of second-place UAB. Tulsa’s Matt Mabrey finished one-under par to earn medalist honors, two shots in front of teammate Logan McCracken.
