Men's Golf in Sixth-Place Heading into Final Round of C-USA Championship
Casey Fernandez is tied for 11th-place after firing a 69.

Edmond, Okla. – The Southern Miss men’s golf team is in sixth-place heading into the final round of the Conference USA Championship. The tournament is being played at the par-70, 6,861 Oak Tree Golf Club.
The Golden Eagles are 26-over par after shooting a 288, nine shots behind fourth-place Middle Tennessee and Rice. The 288, as well as their 36-hole score of 586, are the fourth-lowest for Southern Miss in C-USA Championship history.
Junior Casey Fernandez fired a 69 to sit four-over par in a tie for 11th-place. The 68 is his sixth round of par or better this year and the 19th of his career, and is his fourth career round in the 60’s. His 36-hole score of 144 ties his season-low.
Junior Drew Kirby is tied for 36th-place at nine-over par after posting a 75. Sophomore Kevin Jorden shot a 74 to sit in a 39th-place tie at 10-over par.
Senior Trent Hillis is tied for 48th-place at 11-over par after carding a 78 and senior Kevin Brady is in a 55th-place tie at 16-over par after firing a 70. The 70 is Brady’s third round of par or better this year and the 29th of his career
Tulsa leads the tournament at nine-over par, three shots ahead of second-place Charlotte. Tulsa’s Logan McCracken is three-under par, leading the individual tournament, two shots in front of second-place.
