Southern Miss in Seventh-Place at Conference USA Men's Golf Championships

Texarkana, Ark. - The Southern Miss men's golf team is in seventh-place after the first round of the Conference USA Championship, played at the par 72, 6,935-yard Texarkana Country Club in Texarkana, Ark.
The Golden Eagles shot an opening round six-over par 294.
Junior Zach Estep is tied for 10th-place after opening with a one-under par 71. It is his eighth round of par or better this year and the 22nd of his career.
Junior Kevin Brady is even in a 14th-place tie after shooting a first round 72. It is his 11th round of par or better this year and the 25th of his career.
Freshman Michael Perez is tied for 38th-place at three-over par after opening with a 75.
SMU leads the tournament at 10-under par with an opening score of 278. UCF is in second-place at three-under par and Houston is in third at two-under par.
There is a four-way tie at the top of the individual leaderboard between SMU's Mario Clemens and Bryson Dechambeau, Houston's Curtis Reed and Martin Simonsen of UTEP.
The tournament continues tomorrow with the second round. Play begins at 8:30, with Southern Miss begins play at 9:20 from hole #10.
