Final Results 
Laredo, Texas - The Southern Miss men's golf team finished in eighth-place at the Border Olympics, hosted by Houston at the par-72, 7,319-yard Laredo Country Club.
The Golden Eagles shot a final round 295 to finish 42-over par, three shots back of Mississippi State.
Sophomore Zach Estep shot a final round 75 to finish five-over par, tied for 11th-place. It is his third top 20 finish of the season and fourth of his career.
Freshman Casey Fernandez tied for 45th-place at 13-over par after firing an even-par 72. It is his sixth round of par or better this year.
Senior Derek Plucienski tied for 50th-place at 14-over par after carding a final round 76. Senior Nick Brown posted a 72 to tie for 64th-place at 18-over. It is the sixth round of par or better this year and 17th of his career.
Sophomore Kevin Brady closed out the scoring by posting a 78 to finish tied for 73rd-place at 21-over par.
Lamar won the team competition at six-over par with a 54-hole score of 870. Baylor took second-place at 11-over par.
Lamar's M.J. Dafue earned medalist honors, finishing the tournament at five-under par, two shots in front of Louisiana-Lafayette's Philipp Fendt.
Southern Miss will return to the links in two weeks at the BancorpSouth Intercollegiate, April 2-3 and played at Reunion Golf & Country Club in Madison, Miss.
