Men's Golf Improves to 12th-place Finish at Louisiana Classics

HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team earned a 12th-place finish at the 27th Annual Louisiana Classics, played at the par-72, 6,898-yard Oakbourne Country Club.

The Golden Eagles shot a final round of 299 to finish with a 54-hole score of 886, 22-over par

Sophomore Kevin Brady, playing as an individual, tied for 47th-place at six-over par, closing the tournament with a 75.

Senior Derek Plucienski tied for 51st-place after shooting a final round 77 to finish seven-over par. Trent Hillis, Zach Estep and Casey Fernandez all tied for 54th-place at eight-over par. Hillis closed with a 75, Estep had a 73 and Fernandez shot a 79.

Nick Brown closed the scoring for the Golden Eagles with a 74 to finish nine-over par, tied for 58th-place.

No. 18 LSU won the tournament at 17-under par, 14 strokes better than second-place Tulsa and SMU at three-under par.

LSU's Andrew Presley earned medalist honors at 10-under par. Teammate Sang Yi took second at seven-under.

Southern Miss returns to the links next week at the Argent Financial Classic in Ruston, La.
