HATTIESBURG, Miss. - The Southern Miss men's golf team sits in 10th-place after two rounds of the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, played at the par-72, 7,160 Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles shot rounds of 302 and 289 to sit 15-over par, three shots behind ninth-place Louisiana-Lafayette.
Freshman Casey Fernandez, sophomore Zach Estep and senior Nick Brown are all tied for 24th-place at three-over par. Fernandez shot rounds of 74-73, while Estep and Brown each shot 76-71. The rounds of 71 were Brown's15th career round of par or better and Estep's 10th.
Senior Derek Plucienski is in a five-way tied for 47th-place at six-over after shooting rounds of 76 and 74. Sophomore Kevin Brady is tied for 72nd-place at 12-over par.
Middle Tennessee State leads the tournament at six-under par with a 36-hole score of 570. Tournament host South Alabama and Wake Forest are tied for second at one-under par.
MTSU's Andrew Cho leads the individual competition at five-under par, one shot ahead of Jonathan Fly of Memphis.
In the USA Individual Tournament, sophomore Trent Hillis is tied for sixth-place at five-over par. Freshman Drew Kirby is tied for 21st-place at eight-over par and freshman Matt McKagen is in 29th-place at 12-over par.
