Mobile, Ala. - The Southern Miss men's golf team shot a final round 306 to finish in 14th-place at the Mobile Bay Intercollegiate, hosted by South Alabama and is being played at the par-72, 7,212-yard Magnolia Grove Crossings Golf Course.
The Golden Eagles finished 40-over par, three shots behind 13th-place Akron.
Senior Kevin Brady tied for 39th-place at seven-over par after shooting after shooting a final round 76. Junior Drew Kirby tied for 49th-place at nine-over par after carding his third straight 75. Senior Zach Estep tied for 51st-place at 10-over par after shooting a 77.
Junior Casey Fernandez shot a 78 finish in 66th-place at 17-over par and sophomore Michael Perez finished in 69th-place at 23-over par after closing with an 81.
Auburn won the tournament at six-under par, six shots ahead of second-place Kentucky. Wake Forest's Clancy Waugh, took medalist honors at six-under par.
In the USA Individual Tournament, sophomore Kevin Jorden fired a final round 68 to tie for second-place at seven-over par, four shots back of Auburn's Blake Messer. The 68 tied a career-high and is his team-best fifth round of par or better this year.
Sophomore Tyler Peggs tied for eighth-place at 12-over par after shooting a 71. It is his first career top 10 finish and the 71 is his third round of par or better this year.
Senior Jared Smith tied for 12th-place at 14-over par after carding a 79. It is his first career top 20 finish. Senior Trent Hillis finished 26-over par in a 29th-place tie after posting a 76.
Southern Miss returns to the links March 10-11 when they travel to Lafayette, La., for the Louisiana Classics.
